Tom Virtue's mother has been in and out of the hospital. I don't know the details but he said she is doing a little better now. So, both a praise for her doing better and pray that she keep improving.

Yeah, I agree. There are a lot of things we are so used to we don't even think about them. We should (as a group) make thanking God for these things part of our regular prayer topics.

I've been feeling really icky lately.... tired, sick, jumble brained.

I got bit on the ribs by a dog. It's not real bad, but it hurts and I had to get a Tetanus shot. Be warned, Candlewood dogs, not as friendly as advertised.

Dog bite update; it looks healed with no Tetanus or Rabies (AKA "The Rage").

Praise, the proposal we prayed for last week was accepted.

Serve Day is coming up. We should pray that we continue our project year round.

Malissa's grandma and mom are doing better now.

Tom Virtue's mom sounds like she is doing better.

Everyone did good on finals.

All the Serve Day planning comes together.

Lyndsey's foot has been getting better using some foot support.

There has been a drop in participation on Sunday Nights.

Rob has been really working a lot the last few weeks so we haven't seen him a lot.

Delaney had a seizure and is having some tests done tomorrow to determine the cause.

Our uncle Rick has ALS Disease and has been doing worse lately.

Michelle's grandma has a shoulder injury.

Malissa's grandma is trying to get a new passport and it's been difficult. She also had her husband die recently.

Lyndsey's foot has been better for a few days now.

Serve Day is coming up on July 26th. Pray that we have a good turn out for the projects.

Lyndsey has been feeling "Jumble Brained" lately.

Me and Lyndsey's uncle Rick went into the hospital for a few days.

My friend Roxanne needs prayer. She has had a tumor on her uterus for quite some time(non-cancerous) and I asked if we could pray for her in an upcoming decision she's making about it. She has gone to the doctor but hasn't any health insurance and the time is coming where she has to make a decision in weather to have her uterus fully removed with the tumor or to have the tumors removed and risk the high possibility of them growing back. She needs your prayer in making the right decision. She doesn't believe she'll ever want children but she is VERY VERY fearful of this surgery. Please pray and pray. Let Jesus surround her and hold her hand! Thank You

Lyndsey,s heart if fluttering once and a wile. Pray for her to find out what is wrong and to fix it. Pray her insurance works out to cover the Doctors care.

I following was posted in the latest Voice of the Martyrs newsletter.


"Pastor Zhang “Bike” Mingxuan, known for traveling across China on a bicycle to evangelize, was arrested by Chinese police just two days before the Olympics began. Pastor Bike was the inspiration for the recent partnership between The Voice of the Martyrs and China Aid Association to create the Olympic Prayer Band."


"Earlier this year, Pastor Bike pleaded with VOM staff to ask Christians to pray for persecuted Christians in China during the Olympics. The pastor voluntarily preaches the gospel openly in China despite being persecuted. He has asked for his identity to be revealed to bring continued attention to the persecution of Christians in Communist China."


We should continue to pray for him along with the rest of the church in China.

Robert (Hatch), won one of his tournaments on Saturday. Lets pray that he does good today and that he has a safe flight back home.

Malissa's Nana is on a team to head up different missionary teams at neighboring churches.

Delany's mom is sick and he is very stressed out. Also Delany had a seizure and find needs to find out what to do about that and how to work with his insurance.

Malissa's knee's are hearting from working so much.

Usama has jury duty and needs to work is out with school.

Lyndsey is still having foot problems and heart flustering. She is going to a cardiologists. Pray that they find out what is wrong.

First, my Dad was recently diagnosed with heart disease - he goes in for an Angiogram on Wed. Pray for healing and skillful care and that it won't be as bad as feared. The doctor thinks he'll most like need at least a stent or even bypass surgery, and certainly given those options, pray that he won't need bypass surgery.

Second, a friend of mine who has been married less than a year is having extremely serious marital (relationship) problems. Pray for God's intercession, pray that her husband would be open to truly attempt to heal the rift, and pray for guidance for them and also for the pastor she has been leaning on for counseling.

Our friend Matt Maddox is in Louisiana and there is a CAT 4 hurricane heading that way. Pray that he stays safe and that the hurricane subsides before reaching the mainland.

Malissa's grandma has been sick and is taking a while to get over it.

Lauren and John are going to Hawaii for their year anniversary.

Lyndsey's TA paperwork is almost corrected. Her friends are also taking comprehensive exams next week.

Chris got the position at Biola and all his classes are full.

Katie's dad's cancer returned and he decided to not do chemotherapy again.

My grandma is going on a servant prp camp. It is a training in mission ministry. Thursday-Staterday the 4th-6th in Big Bear. Gail and Sharon (Malissa Grandma) is in charge of the mission committiee for the western anglican churches. Pray for the preparation and getting other churches involved with mission in there areas.

If you have myspace you got this there! Otherwise, My friend Michelle posted this bulletin. Joe is her son and they both dearly love Jesus Christ. Our brother is in need!

Friends- no joke. Joe is in big trouble and desperately needs your prayers. Last night he was arrested and taken to OC Jail. Apparently he was out in the parking lot shooting airsoft rifle when someone saw him, thought he was a real shooter, and called the police. Thank GOD he wasn't shot! However upon inspection of his car officers found a police-style baton, which is considered an illegal dangerous weapon, and a felony to possess unless you are a police officer.


I don't know what happens next. I am scared for him. You know Joe- he's a good guy, a goofball, not a criminal. This is a stupid mistake that could cost him everything. Please, please pray.

Pastor Bike is FREE! On Friday, August 29, prominent Chinese house church leader Zhang Mingxuan, affectionately known as "Pastor Bike," his wife and a co-worker were released from Chinese custody. Pastor Bike was arrested along with his wife and co-worker August 6, two days before the Olympic Games began in Beijing. An outspoken evangelist, Pastor Bike has travelled on his bike to many places in China, handing out Christian literature and Bibles and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The last few week systematic attacks on Christians in India have increased dramatically. We need to continue to pray for everyone there. The link below gives more information.

Some of you may have heard of the attacks on Christians in India. The following is from International Christian Concern.

I'm sure you have heard the terrible news coming out of Orissa, India where the Christian community has been brutalized.


Up to 50 Christians have been murdered and 100 churches destroyed, with 20,000 in refugee camps and up to 50,000 Christians hiding in the jungles and left homeless.




As we speak, ICC has 2 representatives inside Orissa. One will be distributing emergency aid to devastated Christians and the other is investigating/recording the ongoing tragedy.



We are doing an initial distribution of aid that will help 500 believers and are hoping to do a lot more. We are distributing blankets, soap, baby food, etc.



The brother doing the investigative work is about to go into areas without phone or email.



This morning I received this email from one of the brothers and thought I would send it out to you as he tells us that we must mobilize prayer for the believers there.



Dear Jeff,

In spite of all the assurance given by state govt. the local administration has not done any thing to subdue violence in kandhamal.

The death toll is increasing everyday. The demolition of houses and forceful conversion has become everyday news.


Day before yesterday, someone tricked Ishwar and his wife Pranati to come out of the relief camp (by saying his father died).

Having heard this tragic news he and his wife came out of the relief camp and went through the forest to reach their village where they found that the news given to them was false.

On the way back to the relief camp Pranati told police that a group of tribals forced her husband to accompany them deep into the jungles and then killed him.

Pranati has lodged a case with the police but the dead body is not recovered by police.


We need to mobilize prayer even more intensively than before. Our rescuer is God himself.

No one seem to (care for the) Christians in Orissa.

The police and the administration are in partners with (the radical Hindus who are attacking us) and their schemes.

Only God can intervene in our situation. Thank you for praying for us.


Brother ______ is traveling today to ___________ in south Orissa.

Fifteen Christian villages were set on fire there, and an evangelist was burnt alive.


Thank you for the immediate help extended to persecuted Christians in Orissa.

Delaney's mom has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She is refusing treatment so there is little that can be done at this point. Pray for Delaney and his family. The next year will probably be both upsetting and frustrating for them.

For the past week or so my boyfriend Nick's grandma has been in the hospital. She had fallen or something and broke her femur. She also has a super weak heart. She got through the surgery for her leg, but shes been in and out of being awake...and when she is, shes mentally out. So I'm not sure the actual time, and if they have already done it, but they are taking her off life support today. She does know God, so that is the best thing of all. But her son's and daughters all have big problems (recovering alcoholic, schizophrenic etc). And I ask you to pray that the family, her children do okay with this and know that everything will be okay. Thank you. -Little Sister

Pray that i learn to trust God in what He is doing, and learn things He has to teach me, even though I don't understand what is going on.

Hey friends, I really need your help.


We got the word yesterday that the D.A. has filed Joe's case and has indeed filed it as a FELONY. Arraignment hearing is set for Wednesday, October 29 in Fullerton.


I won't even begin to talk about how completely ridiculous this is, how outraged I am, and how frightened I am for my son given the fact that if this unbelievable arrest could have happened in the first place and has made it this far, then there is clearly a big problem with the justice system in Fullerton.


All I am asking for right now are your prayers. It doesn't matter if you are religious- I'm asking- no, I'm begging- for you to send a message to God right now and ask for divine intervention. Joe is INNOCENT and has done absolutely nothing wrong; it is a travesty that he is being put through this when there are actual criminals committing crimes against humanity right now.
It's just so wrong!

Tom Virtue's mother passed away this morning. We should all pray for his family during this time of mourning. But we should also be thankful that she did not have to move to a nursing home during this time.

Me and Lyndsey's cousin Jeanne' has developed a lot of food allergies and is not sure if there is an underlying cause.

One of the prisoners in China that we wrote on behalf of was just released. She was able to see her husband again just one day before he died. We should thank God that she was released and got to be woth her husband during that time.

Shanon's grandmother was moved to another hospital and her mother is having a hard time tracking her down. The new hospital is not giving her all of her medications so she isn't doing as well.

On January 21, 2007, Pastor Dmitry Shestakov was arrested in a raid on his Full Gospel Church in Andijan, Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan's Religious Affairs Committee claims Shestakov, an evangelical pastor affiliated with the registered Full Gospel Church, is not an authorized leader of any officially-recognized religious organization in Uzbekistan. They describe him as an "imposter" leading an underground group engaged in proselytizing under Shestakov's leadership. He is appealing his four-year labor camp sentence.

ICC is joining a broad effort to send letters to Uzbekistan on behalf of Pastor Shestakov for the month of April, in conjunction with the website www.freepastordmitry.com. Would you join us, and help Vera see her father again?

Hope you’re looking forward to a good weekend. We are! Part of the reason that we’re looking forward to the weekend is that Wed evening we started a “Briefing” time for several short-term mission teams who will spend the rest of the summer in locations here in the US and Internationally.



We’d love it if you’d pray for this time. As I’m writing this Karen is speaking and doing a training time on how the team leaders can do a “Debriefing” with their teams at the end of the project. Usually we have a joint time to oversee and coach that ourselves, but this summer we’re trying a different way to see if it can be effective.



Pray that we would have eyes to see how to help these team leaders and wisdom as we prepare and communicate with them!

It’s a privilege to be involved! We’re investing in 100 people who are taking 6 weeks of their summer to take the gospel of Jesus to people who need to hear!
